Happy spaces. I think everyone must have them in their own home. You know the spaces I’m talking about – the little areas in your home that make you smile every time you walk by. Here are a few of the happy spaces in my home that bring me joy every time I walk past them.
My teapot given to me as a wedding gift by my grandma. Ever since I was ten years old I remember drinking hot tea and eating gingersnaps with my grandma every time she came to visit. I am the only grandchild that liked hot tea, and this teapot means a lot to me because my grandpa gave it to my grandma before she gave it to me. I gave it a home on a little cake stand next to the coffee maker.

Clipboards in my kitchen. These are a super easy and inexpensive way to decorate using scrapbook paper, photos, and little notes that mean something special to you.

Blue bottles and a flag. See previous post for the story of the bottles as well as how to paint them.

Lyrics to one of my favorite songs. I typed up the lyrics to one of my favorite songs in Photoshop, added a textured layer, and printed them. I cut around each word and taped them to twine. Then my husband helped me hang them above the piano. This is a really inexpensive way to take up a lot of wall space.
The pillows on my couch. I made all of the slipcovers for the pillows with various tutorials online as well as some of my own ideas. This is how I like my couch to look.

This is how it usually looks. My husband seems to think that pillows are unnecessary and doesn’t understand the cuteness factor that they bring to our living room.

Our small collection of vases and old pots on top of the living room bookshelves. These were collected from various craft and home stores. The lemons of course aren’t real, but they add a little bit of sunshine that makes me happy.

Our family initial with a floral arrangement. I do not consider myself a professional florist by any means, but sometimes I like to dabble in floral arrangements. This one is on top of our refrigerator.

I hope this has inspired you to create more happy spaces in your home. You cannot have too many. Really you can’t.
